England vs. USA Picks, Predictions, Odds
It’s the most eye-catching fixture of the 2022 World Cup so far as England meet USA in Group B on Friday Nov. 25, which has a very good chance that this will likely be the most viewed soccer match in American television history.
England vs. USA Picks & Score Predictions
Manager Gareth Southgate and England top the group after their 6-2 demolition of Iran on Matchday 1. Meanwhile, the USMNT drew 1-1 with England’s neighbors Wales earlier in the week. The Welsh should be their biggest challengers for qualification but a positive result for Gregg Berhalter’s side against England would open the group up.
We’ve been here before in the World Cup. It’s the third meeting between these sides at the finals. The most recent of which came back in 2010 which finished 1-1. That was an outlier in the history of this fixture. England have won eight of their 11 previous meetings with the United States.
We can expect an exciting match. The goal line is over 2.5 which means the bookies expect at least a few goals here. It’s easy to see why. Three of England’s last four matches have had at least 3.5 goals. Over 2.5 and Both Teams to Score is at +140 which sounds about right. That opens things up for a 2-1 or 3-1 English win.
Score Predictions:
England 2 USA 1 (+800)
England 3 USA 1 (+1400)
England vs. USA Best Bets
A good angle here is looking at the first half betting. Both of these sides are strong starters with plenty of goals before the break. There has been an average of 0.9 goals at the break in the USA’s last 10 and 1.4 in England’s last 10.
Over 0.5 first-half goals is okay at -250, however going with Over 1.5 first-half goals is even better at +184.
Best Bet: Over 1.5 First Half Goals (+184)

England are the big favorites for this one. It’s -182 for Gareth Southgate’s side to get all three points The USMNT is out at +4500 to get a win. We’ve seen a few upsets in this tournament already which could give them some confidence. A price of +333 for a draw that would still represent a fine result for the US.
England Betting Outlook & Players to Watch
Part of the draw of this England team is that it’s difficult to pick out a single player. There were five different names on the scoresheet for England against Iran earlier in the week.
Captain Harry Kane wasn’t one of them and is a reported injury doubt for this clash. The Spurs forward is +125 to score anytime in this one. A better option may be Kane’s understudy Callum Wilson at +170. The Newcastle man is in great form and grabbed his only previous England goal in a friendly against the United States in 2018.
But there are better options out there. Raheem Sterling is at +225 but Bukayo Saka is the best option. He bagged two against Iran earlier in the week and is way out at +350 to get a goal in the match. +1600 for Sterling to get two or more goals in the match is the long punt.
USA Betting Outlook & Players to Watch
Timothy Weah grabbed the headlines for the US on Monday. The Lille attacker grabbed his second goal in four appearances for the USMNT. He’d only scored twice in his 22 games for the US before that run. He’s at +550 to get a goal anytime here which may be one to avoid.
Christian Pulisic hasn’t scored in any of his last six appearances for the US. He’s never gone seven consecutive appearances for the USMNT without finding the net. Pulisic will want to change that. He’s on penalty duties for the US and two of the last five goals England has conceded came from the penalty spot.
Odds of +450 is decent value for Pulisic to score any time despite his form. That next goal is coming soon.
