A Thursday Night Risk Free CFL Football Wager w/ BetMGM
Tonight, the CFL’s newest star takes the field as Nathan Rourke and his BC Lions travel to face the Ottawa RedBlacks. Last week, the Ohio University product set records for a Canadian QB in the CFL by completing 89.7 percent of his 45 attempts on the way to a 436-yard performance. That outing also included 4 TD passes.
This is the perfect chance to use our BetMGM offer of a $1,000 risk free bet! Make sure to use code VIBONUS when signing up. Why not use it tonight?
The opening line has the home dog getting 2.5 points with the total set at 47.5. This first game of the CFL weekend schedule has the highest total of the four matchups but since BC is averaging 51.5 ppg maybe it’s still too low.
What Do We Know About The RedBlacks?
Like their opponent, they’ve already had the first of their 3 byes and come into this affair at 0-2. (1-1 ATS) They’ve only allowed 38 points in those 2 games. A great number until you see that they’ve only put up 29. Jeremiah Masoli, the starting QB has a decent 101.1 QBR but has only thrown 1 TD pass so far in the young season. Ironically, in the average yards per play, passing yards per game and yards per pass columns their numbers are similar to the Lions.
It’s the stats on defence that spell trouble. They’re giving up 9 yards on every pass attempt with only 1 interception.
Will The BC Lions Wake Up Friday Morning 3-0?
Well, they sure will if they put up 50+ like they’re averaging. Check out some of the numbers they’re pumping out on offence. Already mentioned the points per game and Rourke has 7 TD passes without a pick. Every time he hands off the ball they're averaging at least 6.5 yards. They have 3 different RBs averaging over 5 yards per touch and those players have already scored 6 times.
Sure, but as long as Ottawa’s O can keep up, they’ll be fine. Maybe not! They’re facing Coach Rick Campbell’s team that already has 8 sacks and 6 interceptions in only 2 games.
How Should You Use The BetMGM $1,000 Risk Free Bet?
The picture of these two teams so far this season isn’t much different than it was at the end of last year. You have to go back to week 7 of that abbreviated season to find the last time Ottawa scored more than 17 points. While BC has scored 23 or more in five of their last six games.
Whether it’s a risk-free play or a wager with your own hard-earned money, it’s tough when you lose an OVER bet because only one of the teams scores. On the other hand, taking the Under when “Air Canada” is on the field seems like a risky wager at best.
Lots of bettors love home dogs. However, in this case, if you don’t think BC is the better team tonight, you’re Lion to yourself.
