Lions vs. Vikings: BetMGM Bonus Bet Offer Up to $1,000

The Minnesota Vikings in week two provided the exact reason we caution the weekly overreactions that are so common place throughout the NFL season. After the first week of the season, there was a buzz about the Minnesota Vikings being this unstoppable force in the NFC North, and more importantly the entire NFC. Kirk Cousins and company were quickly humbled by a magnificent performance by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kirk Cousin tossed three interceptions. To make matters worse, Cousins was the leading rusher for Minnesota. He netted 20 yards on the ground. That is never a recipe for success. The Eagles could do no wrong and were led by their signal caller who passed for 333 yards on 26-31 passing. He had one passing touchdown to go along with his 26-yard scamper. The Vikings had no answer and after such a dominant week one, the fall was hard back to earth.
Now the Vikings will head home to welcome the Detroit Lions. The expectations for the Lions this season have been to win and at minimum be competitive. We cannot find a reason to intelligently argue that the opposite has been true. After falling behind in week one and ultimately dropping the opener by three, the Lions opened week two by jumping out to the big lead of 22-0. The Commanders still were able to make this game more interesting late, but it was too little too late.

The Vikings are listed as favorites of six points. The opening line was six, before some money came in and pushed the line up by half a point. It has since come back down. The Lions have covered their first two games this season while the Vikings are 1-1 against the spread.
Dating back to last season, the Lions come into this matchup on a 5-1 ATS run and the Vikings are 4-1 in their last five ATS within U.S Bank Stadium. The full capacity of 66,468 will be rocking just as they were when they welcome Green Bay. The teams meet twice yearly and the home team is currently on a 4-1 against the spread run.
The total on this game is set to 52.5. Both defenses have looked good at time, and suspect at others. The Lions have been involved in two over to start the 2022 campaign, and both time the over was never in doubt. The Vikings have trended the other way this season, with two straight totals flying under to open the season. The Lions have seen the total go over in four straight games, while the Vikings have seen the total go over in four of their last five home games.
Even more, the Vikings are 7-3 to the over in their last 10 games overall. While overs have been the trend for both teams, but when facing each other in Minnesota, the under has hit in eight of the last nine.
