BetMGM: Green Bay Packers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

38. 45. The age of the two starting quarterbacks in this matchup is unprecedented. They bring in a combined 39 years of NFL experience. Analysis and sports journalists alike have all waited underneath a cliff, the same cliff that Tom Brady was inevitably heading towards, but the fall has not yet happened. Could this be the season? After the retirement announcement, Brady announced a month later that he would be returning for year 23 in the NFL. Again, we strongly discourage overreactions on a weekly basis, but maybe Brady has finally taken a step back.

Across two games, he has 402 yards with just two touchdowns coupled with an interception thrown in Week 1. While the numbers are not horrible, they are very pedestrian. The Buccaneers offense is only responsible for two offensive touchdowns. They only had 260 yards of offense against the New Orleans Saints. We still think it is a little early to sound the alarm, but precaution is warranted. The new offensive line will start to gel, and maybe a certain somebody will get a midseason call.

Tampa Bay will become one of the last teams to finally host a game in 2022, and they will welcome the Green Bay Packers who have had their own problems on the offensive side of the ball. Aaron Rodgers has looked extremely frustrated with his receiving corps this season, most notably in Week 1. A few drops led to a lopsided win for the Vikings.

Week 2 went a little better for the Packers, but it was not an impressive win by any stretch of the imagination. They won easily 27-10, but the Packers only scored a field goal in the second half. Rodgers went for 234 yards on 19-of-25 passing. This is set to be one of the last meetings between the aging signal callers, and the Tampa Bay crowd will be in full force to welcome home their Buccaneers.

BetMGM has the Tampa Bay Buccaneers listed as slight favorites, laying 2.5 at home. Both sides are priced at -110. The Bucs have covered both of their wins this season, and the Packers are just 1-1 against the spread. Dating back to last season, the Packers are just 2-5 in their last seven games ATS. The Buccaneers are 4-1 in the last five ATS. These two franchises have a long history of meeting up, and in the last seven meetings, the Packers have only covered twice.

BetMGM Sportsbook has the total listed at 41. This is a massive drop from the opening line. The line was set at 47.5 on Sunday, and by mid-day Monday, it had gotten steamed all the way down by six points. That is a lot of sharp action to be had considering the massive line move. We expected this total to be around 43, mainly due to both offenses providing lackluster performances.

The total has gone over in five of the last seven meetings between Green Bay and Tampa Bay, but when the game has been down in Florida, the under is 6-2 in the last eight.
