Boys will become men tonight, not on the ice, but on the second biggest stage of their career. The NHL Draft kicks off Thursday July 7th, at 7:00 PM EST on ESPN. The following rounds 2-7 will be Friday July 8th.

VegasInsider has teamed up with FanDuel to offer an outstanding welcome offer for the NHL draft. New users can get a $1,000 no sweat first bet. No promo code is needed to get access. Why not bet on who is going to be the number one pick?

The Montreal Canadiens have the first overall pick tonight, followed by the New Jersey Devils, and Arizona Coyotes. The heavy favorite to go number 1 is Shane Wright at -200 on FanDuel.

Shane Wright is an 18 year old out of Burlington, Ontario. He is a righty center that has a “sniper’s release.” In his 2021-2022 season with the Kingston Frontenacs, he tallied up 32 goals, 62 assists, and 94 total points in only 63 games played. Many people think he has an amazing upside for an offense, but is not a generational talent. Time will tell.

Following the Canadians, the New Jersey Devils are set to grab the second overall pick tonight. They are favored to grab Juraj Slafkovsky at -142

Juraj Slafkovsky (kid was born with a hockey name) is a left handed winger born in Kosice, Slovakia. He has racked up experience with the Slovakian International team, and is said to have an amazing capability of extending offensive possessions and turning them into scoring chances.

Now the wrinkle of the night: The Arizona Coyotes are battling plenty of issues on and off the ice, but tonight might come with a surprise. The favored 3rd round pick is Logan Cooley, but plenty of analysts and even our own Dan Dobish have a different player going 3rd overall.

Simon Nemec is a right handed defensemen born in no other than Slovakia. With his odds sitting at +490 on FanDuel, he has value to go 3rd. He is creative with the puck, sprints up and down the ice, and has all the skills the Coyotes need. Look for Nemec to go 3rd overall.

There are plenty of other bets to make on tonight’s NHL draft. Once again new users can take advantage of our exclusive welcome offer with FanDuel. We have teamed up to offer a $1,000 no sweat first bet. Shane Wright doesn’t go number 1? Do not sweat it, FanDuel is here for you.
