FanDuel Promo Code: Jets at Steelers $1,000 Risk-Free
The New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers have taken different paths, but both find themselves at 1-2 to start the year. Outside of a miracle comeback win at Cleveland in Week 2, the Jets have been disappointing so far in 2022 with a pair of blowout losses to Baltimore and Cincinnati.
Fans noticed some tension on the sidelines last week between DL Quinnen Williams and defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton. Despite Williams’ insistence that it’s not a big deal, disagreement between player and coach is always a cause for concern. It's definitely starting to feel like crunch time for the J-E-T-S. This weekend, though, they have a prime opportunity to right the ship this weekend in Pittsburgh at the newly-renamed Arcisure Stadium (yes, we had to look up the new name).
Pittsburgh, on the other hand, won a wild 23-20 game against the Bengals in Week 1 that featured stalled drives, missed kicks, some more missed kicks, and one of the most back-and-forth overtime periods you’ll see anywhere. The Steelers followed it up with losses to New England and Cleveland.
While neither of these teams has been very exciting this year, one team will emerge from this matchup with a 2-2 record and some positive momentum coming out of the first quarter of the year. The loser will be 1-3 and facing an uphill climb to the playoffs in a hotly-contested AFC conference.
Journeyman QB Joe Flacco has thus far led a Jets offense that averages a meager 17.3 points per game this season. The Jets have run for a respectable 4.4 yards per carry on the ground but have struggled to translate that into points.
TE Tyler Conklin has been a reliable target, catching 18 of the 24 balls thrown his way. 1st round pick out of Ohio State, WR Garrett Wilson, already seems to be Flacco’s favorite target and has passed the eye test through the first 3 games of his promising career. Rookie RB Breece Hall, a second-round pick in this year’s draft, is averaging over 5 yards per carry.
Note: many outlets expect QB Zach Wilson (BYU) to return in Week 4 after a meniscus injury in the offseason.
It’s strange to not see Ben Roethlisberger under center for the Steelers, but QB Mitch Trubisky has actually looked fairly comfortable in the starting role. He’s completing over 60% of his passes and while he’s only found the end zone twice, viewers have been pleasantly surprised with his performance. Former 1st round pick RB Najee Harris is a fantasy favorite and has carried the ball almost 4 times as much as his backup Jaylen Warren. Warren has flashed a few times in limited action and provides a good change of pace.
With both teams desperate for a win, the eyes of bettors everywhere will be focused on Pittsburgh this Sunday. FanDuel Sportsbook is offering the best way to get in on the action: their No Sweat, risk-free $1,000 bet for new users! No code is needed to redeem the offer - your first bet after depositing will be risk-free, meaning you’ll get a free bet back, equal to your stake, if it loses. This is a phenomenal, +EV way to get started!
Injury report:
NYJ:
- QB Zach Wilson is listed as questionable and many outlets expect him to return this week. The Jets’ injury report is pretty vague so this is one to keep an eye on
- OL George Fant is questionable with a knee injury
- LB Quincy Williams is also listed as questionable after being carted off with an ankle injury in Week 3
PIT:
- LB Devin Bush participated in practice Tuesday and Wednesday but is listed on the injury report with a foot injury. I fully expect Bush to play
- DB Minkah Fitzpatrick is listed with leg cramps but will be on the field Sunday.

FanDuel does a great job with odds boosts as well and while they are usually released closer to kickoff, make sure to keep an eye out for some +EV boosts for this game. Last Sunday, one of the FanDuel boosts hit for over $175 in profit if you bet the max!

This pivotal AFC matchup may not jump off the page when looking at Sunday’s slate of games but with each team fighting to get back to the .500 mark, viewers can expect a hard-fought game. Look for Jets QB Joe Flacco (or Zach Wilson if he’s healthy) to target Garrett Wilson and Tyler Conklin early and often to stretch the Pittsburgh defense. On the other side of the field, expect Steelers RB Najee Harris to find the end zone and take the load off of Trubisky’s shoulders.
The spread is relatively low so don’t be surprised if it comes down to the wire. Don’t forget to take advantage of FanDuel’s risk-free $1,000 wager and please gamble responsibly!
