Why Should You Care?
The Astros have the best record in the American League and the Braves are coming into this one having won nine of their last ten and are only three games behind the Mets in the National League East. Atlanta is the favorite at -141 and +140 giving up the 1 ½ run. Houston is -160 on the run line and the total is pegged at 8 combined runs.
Will The Astros Keep Home Field Advantage To The ALCS?
Houston is 10-9 in August but still holds on to a double-digit lead in the AL West. This is the last game of the current road trip for the reigning NL Champions that have seen the Astros go 2-4. They came into Atlanta on a 5-2 run but are staring at a sweep by the World Series champs and are just 4-6 in their last ten away from Minute Maid Park.
Jose Urquidy goes for the visitors and is 11-4 with a 3.69 ERA and a WHIP of 1.14. In his last six starts he’s thrown 39 innings allowing 25 hits, seven bases on balls, 14 earned runs and has given up five homers. During that span, his start versus the Red Sox was the only one in which he didn’t allow at least one run. His teammates haven’t helped his cause much in those games scoring only 14 times in support.
Do Last Year’s World Series Champions Have A Chance To Repeat?
Everything is going well for the Braves. They’re on an 11-1 run and that included taking three of four from the Mets, the team in front of them in their division. In their last 11 at home, they’re 9-2 and only one opponent has scored more than four runs on them in the last 11 overall. They’ve scored more than that in 10 of their last 12 games.
Charlie Morton is on the mound for the visiting club with a 6-5 record that includes a 4.04 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP. In his last three home games, he’s only been credited with one win while picking up two No Decisions. Those outings included 19.1 innings pitched where he gave up eight hits issues five walks without allowing an earned run or a homer and yet all he has to show for it is a 1-0-2 record.
You Couldn’t Have A Better Game To Use That Risk-FREE Fubo Wager!
Saturday’s game between these two showed exactly how it’s going for both teams right now. The Astros could only manage to produce one run in the first nine, a Jeremy Pena homer in the top of the 5th that was matched by Vaughn Grissom in the bottom of that inning. The visitors took a two-run lead in the 10th only to see the Braves tie it up to force the 11th. Houston took the lead again only to watch Travis d’Arnuad come up with a pinch-hit single in the bottom of the inning for a walk-off win.
When you open your new Fubo account with the bonus code VIBONUS you’re getting a Risk-FREE Wager of up to $1,000 and a month of free FuboTV. It looks like you should use that play to assume that the home team will continue to find a way to win. Morton looks like a different pitcher at home right now and has pitched into the sixth in all three of those referenced home starts. Take Atlanta for the 1st 5 innings as well.
