BetMGM Partners With MLB’s Houston Astros

BetMGM continues to expand its presence in a number of US states offering legal sports betting. As the No. 3 US-based sportsbook operator in terms of market share, the company’s overall growth rate continues to be impressive.
With a keen eye to the future, BetMGM has now established a business presence in Texas, as a major market without legal sports betting at this time. Through a recent company release, BetMGM announced details of a new partnership with the Houston Astros.
The sports betting and iGaming operator will be the exclusive Sports Betting Partner of the Texas-based MLB team. Adam Greenblatt made the following comments as BetMGM CEO:

The organization’s passionate fan base will be key to the growth of BetMGM throughout the South as we look for new ways to engage fans with unique experiences that go beyond the game.”

BetMGM was formed a few years back as the result of a 50/50 partnership between MGM Resorts International and UK-based gaming and entertainment giant Entain. To date, the company offers its mobile sportsbook app in a wide range of US states offering legal sports betting.
As part of BetMGM’s existing presence in Major League Baseball, the betting app is available in Nationals Park in Washington DC. This is the home ball park of the Washington Nationals. Based in Texas, the Astros cannot offer legal sports betting at this time. However, BetMGM signage will be prominently displayed at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
There will be a permanent outfield wall sign along with a rotating digital display behind home plate. BetMGM is also planning to engage directly with Astros’ fans through various VIP experiences.
By integrating the BetMGM brand with team activities, the fan experience will be highly interactive. This includes VIP trips to various road games and pre-game on-field access at all home games. BetMGM will expand its presence with the team into Louisiana through other promotional tie-ins. The company’s sports betting app is available in this neighboring state with Texas.

An important part of BetMGM’s strategy for expansion includes responsible gaming initiatives. GameSense has grown to become a leading program in the legal US sports betting industry. This initiative was developed for and licensed to MGM Resorts by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.
Along with the company’s land-based casino and retail sports betting operations, BetMGM has a business presence in 23 legal markets across the US.
