UPDATE 4:15 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Caesars Sports opened Auburn -4, made a few trips to -4.5/-5 Friday night and got to -5.5 a couple times Saturday. The Tigers have been either -5 or -4.5 all day today and are now -5 (-115).
"There's an influx of public support on the SEC and Bruce Pearl. We would like to see Sparty win for the [championship] outrights and continuous moneyline chalk parlay liability," said Rich Zanco, head of college basketball trading for Caesars Sports.
The total opened at 150 and steadily made its way down to the current 146.5 (Under -115). But Zanco said there's not much of a decision.
UPDATE 9 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Auburn opened -6.5 in DraftKings Sportsbook's Elite Eight odds, then fell to -5.5 within minutes last night. This afternoon, the Tigers dipped another point to -4.5 (-115), where the line remains tonight.
Auburn is netting 64% of early spread tickets/62% of early spread money. On the moneyline, it's 63% tickets/56% money on the Tigers so far.
DK opened the total at 147.5 and advanced to 148.5 multiple times in the first several hours. But it's been at 147.5 since lunchtime today, with 64% of tickets/60% of cash on the Over.
UPDATE 12:15 A.M. ET SATURDAY: Overall No. 1 seed Auburn (31-5 SU/20-16 ATS) found itself in 9-point second-half hole vs. No. 5 seed Michigan. The Tigers trailed 48-39 with 12:26 remaining in Friday night's Sweet 16 tilt.
But Bruce Pearl's squad then went on a 31-8 run en route to a 78-65 victory as 8.5-point chalk. Auburn covered for the second straight game, after an 0-5 ATS purge.
No. 2 seed Michigan State (30-6 SU/24-11-1 ATS) pretty much mimicked Auburn. The Spartans trailed No. 6 seed Ole Miss 47-39 with 12:15 remaining in the second half.
But Tom Izzo's troops rallied and ultimately prevailed 73-70, while failing to cover as 3.5-point favorites. The Sparty Party is 11-1 SU/10-2 ATS in its last dozen games.
DraftKings Sportsbook literally just opened Auburn -6.5 (-102) on the March Madness Elite 8 odds board. Check back Saturday for updates.

---|---|---|---|
Houston vs
Tennessee | -2.5 (-118)

u127.5 (-115) | -166 +140 |
- Opening point spread: Houston -5.5

- Opening total: Over/Under 121.5 points scored
- Time: 2:20 p.m. ET Sunday (CBS)
UPDATE 12:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: About two hours before tipoff, Caesars Sports has Houston -3 in Elite 8 odds. That's down from the opener of Cougars -4 late Friday night, with a stop at -3.5 along the way and a low point of -3 (-105).
"We actually took a respected bet on Houston moneyline," said Rich Zanco, Caesars Sports head of college basketball trading. "Not much of an overall decision. It's a classic two-way game.
"But there's absolutely a hazard with parlay exposure to moneyline chalk on the favorites."
Caesars also has a noteworthy decision on the total.
"The total is a peril, as usual. We've gone from 121.5 up 5 points to 126.5. We have a very sizable decision, needing the Under," Zanco said. "Most of the bigger public games in the tournament have crept Over, as well."
UPDATE 3 P.M. ET SATURDAY: As noted in the below update in the wee hours today, Houston opened -5.5 in DraftKings' March Madness Elite 8 odds. And the number didn't last long, actually dipping to Cougars -3.5 (-118) within minutes, before steadying at -4.5 (-102).
However, it's been Houston -3.5 at various juice all day today and is now -3.5 (-102). Tennessee is taking 57% of early spread bets/79% of early spread dollars. The Vols are popular on the moneyline, too, at 61% of bets/83% of cash.
DraftKings' total quickly went from 120.5 to 121.5/122.5, then stretched to 123.5 overnight and 124.5 (Under -115) this morning. It's now 123.5 (Over -112), with 89% of early bets/93% of early money on the Over.
UPDATE 1 A.M. ET SATURDAY: No. 1 seed Houston (33-4 SU/19-17-1 ATS) escaped with a last-second victory over No. 4 seed Purdue. With 2.8 seconds left, Milos Uzan inbounded the ball under the Cougars' basket, got it back and put in a layup for 62-60 victory.
Houston failed to cash as 8.5-point chalk, its second straight ATS setback. But SU wins are most important at this time of year. The Cougars are on a 14-game win streak, part of a 29-1 overall SU spree.
No. 2 seed Tennessee (30-7 SU/19-17-1 ATS) lost both regular-season meetings against SEC rival Kentucky. But in tonight's Sweet 16 tilt, the Vols built a 43-28 halftime edge and rolled to a 78-65 victory laying 4.5 points.
It's the second straight cover for Tennessee, following a 3-8 ATS slide. Up next for the Vols is either No. 1 seed Houston or No. 4 seed Purdue.
Fifteen minutes ago, DraftKings Sportsbook opened Houston -5.5, and that line didn't even last 30 seconds. The Cougars quickly fell to -4.5 (-118)/-4.5 flat, then -3.5 -118 before settling at -4.5 (-102).
The total opened at 120.5 and moved to 121.5/122.5 in short order. Check back Saturday for updates on this matchup in March Madness Elite Eight odds.
East Region
Alabama vs. Duke

Matchup | Spread | Total | Moneyline |
---|---|---|---|
Duke vs
Alabama | -7.5 (-102)
+7.5 (-118) | o174.5 (-115)
u174.5 (-105) | -340 +270 |
- Opening point spread: Duke -6.5
- Opening moneyline: Duke -265/Alabama +215
- Opening total: Over/Under TBA 166.5 points scored
- Time: 8:49 p.m. ET Saturday (TBS/truTV)
UPDATE 8:30 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Duke opened -6 and is up to -7 in Caesars Sports' March Madness Elite 8 odds.
"It's a 3/1 ticket count on the moneyline 'dog, taking the SEC and 'Bama. The spread is a mixed bag of all kinds of action, with no real meaningful decision," Caesars Sports' Rich Zanco said. "We could use Nate Oats to win this game and move forward, to eliminate Duke liability in the championship market."
The total sits at 175, and the betting masses want scoring, per usual.
"The public can't get enough of the Over, but that imbalance is being offset by a handful of bettors," Zanco said, implying some larger bets on the Under.
UPDATE 2 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Nearly seven hours before tipoff, Duke -7.5 (-105) in Elite 8 odds at BetMGM. On Thursday night, the Blue Devils opened -6.5.
In digital wagering (mobile/online), Alabama is actually getting the bulk of play, with spread tickets and money approaching 2/1. And while 67% of all moneyline dollars are on Duke, 64% of moneyline tickets are at 'Bama, taking the +260 price.
However, BetMGM would still like to see an upset in a tournament where upsets have been few and far between.
"We'd love to see 'Bama win this outright. It would kill a bunch of parlays and a heap of futures bets," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.
BetMGM opened the total at 173.5 and is up to 174.5, with the Over wildly popular, at 4/1 tickets and 7/1 money.
"We're always gonna need the Under," Magee said.
UPDATE 11:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY: Since this line posted almost 24 hours ago, DraftKings Sportsbook has toggled between Duke -6.5/-7.5, at various juice. The Blue Devils are now -7.5 (-102) in the March Madness Elite 8 odds market.
Alabama is taking 63% of early spread bets/67% of early spread money.
DraftKings' total sprinted from a 166.5 to 172.5 within 20 minutes of opening, then went to 173.5 about an hour later. Overnight, the number went up yet another point, reaching 174.5 (Over -115). It's now 174.5 flat, with 81% of bets/93% of cash on the Over.
UPDATE 1 A.M. ET FRIDAY: No. 1 seed Duke (34-3 SU/25-12 ATS) is into the Elite Eight, after fending off a big rally from No. 4 seed Arizona. The Blue Devils were up 70-51 with 13:11 to play, then held on to win 100-93 as 9.5-point favorites.
Duke brings a 14-game win streak (10-4 ATS) into the East Region final.
No. 2 seed Alabama (28-8 SU/21-15 ATS) moved on with much more ease. The Crimson Tide made a whopping 25 3-pointers and hammered No. 6 seed BYU 113-88 laying 4.5 points.
Alabama shot a ridiculous 25 of 51 (49%) from 3-point range and was 35 of 66 overall (53%). Mark Sears was a torrid 10 of 16 from distance en route to 34 points.
DraftKings Sportsbook just opened Duke -6.5 moments ago, with no movement so far. But the total quickly took off, going from 166.5 to 168.5/169.5 before stopping at 171.5. Check back Friday for updates on this matchup in March Madness Elite 8 odds.

Florida got to -7 Friday afternoon and again this morning, and has been at various iterations of -7.5 since 1 p.m. ET.
"The bettors have forced us up to the top end of the market," Caesars head of college basketball trading Rich Zanco said. "We are seeing value guys siding with the 'dog [spread] and on the moneyline. But overall, it's a flood of money on the Gators.
"We have a healthy decision on the total, as well."
Caesars opened the total at 155.5, topped out at 158.5 a half hour ago and is now at 158.
UPDATE 11:45 P.M. ET SATURDAY: A few hours before tip time, Florida is 7-point chalk in March Madness Elite 8 odds at Borgata Sportsbook. The BetMGM property in Atlantic City opened the Gators -6.5 late Thursday/early Friday.
"It's been mostly Florida money since it opened," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "The one thing that was very popular in the Sweet 16 is carrying over to the Elite 8: All favorites in moneyline parlays."
The total is up to 157.5 from a 156.5 opener, and Gable said there's good two-way action.
UPDATE 11:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY: As noted below, this line was on the move in a hurry when it opened, almost 24 hours ago. Florida shot from -4.5 to -6.5 within minutes at DraftKings Sportsbook. Tonight, the Gators are -6.5 (-115) in March Madness Elite 8 odds.
Early action is all over Florida, on the spread and the moneyline. Spread tickets are running 4/1-plus and spread money 9/1 plus on the Gators. On the moneyline, it's 5/1 tickets and 7/1 money on the top seed.
The total went from 155.5 to 156.5 early today, with no movement since. Early ticket count is almost 4/1 and early money 9/1 on the Over.
UPDATE 1 A.M. ET FRIDAY: No. 1 seed Florida led Maryland by just 2 points at halftime, 40-38. But the Gators (33-4 SU/27-10 ATS) pulled away in the second half for an 87-71 victory as 7.5-point favorites.
Florida is on a 9-0 SU run (7-2 ATS) and is15-1 SU/13-3 ATS in its last 16 outings.
Meanwhile, No. 3 seed Texas Tech (28-8 SU/17-18 ATS) overcame a 13-point deficit in the final 4:43 to force overtime against No. 10 seed Arkansas. The Red Raiders, 5.5-point favorites, tied it at 72 in the waning seconds of regulation, then won 85-83 in overtime.
