Betting on the Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers are an NFL team that are gaining a newer fanbase. The Chargers have made some major changes recently, and if you are interested in betting on the them, this is the guide for you.
The Los Angeles Chargers are a professional football team in the National Football League. The team competes in the West division of the American Football Conference. Their home games are played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the same stadium as fellow Los Angeles team, the Los Angeles Rams.
Despite a recent name and location change, the Chargers were actually founded in 1959, playing their first professional season as a member of the American Football League in 1960. Their first season was actually playing for Los Angeles, however the team relocated the next year, 1961, to San Diego as they became the San Diego Chargers. Then, in 1970, as a result of the AFL-NFL merger, the team joined the NFL.
The Chargers played in San Diego for a total of fifty-six seasons. But, in 2017, the team relocated back to Los Angeles and became the Los Angeles Chargers once again. This was coincidentally just a year after the Rams relocated back to Los Angeles as well after playing in St. Louis.
The Chargers have a fairly strong historical record, having won the AFL championship back in 1963. The team had been able to reach the AFL Championship game a total of four times.
The Chargers won their first and only AFC Championship in 1994 before moving to Super Bowl XXIX, where they lost to the San Francisco 49ers. The team has had notable players and coaches, with eight players and one coach inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Some of these players are Lance Alworth, Fred Dean, Dan Fouts, Charlie Joiner, Ron Mix, Kellen Winslow, Junior Seau, Philip Rivers, and LaDainian Tomlinson.
The Chargers have had several rivalries throughout the years. They have been with the Las Vegas Raiders, the Los Angeles Rams, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Denver Broncos.
A wager you will see with NFL betting is a moneyline bet. A moneyline wager is about the winner of any given game. Keep reading to see how to make a moneyline bet:
- Los Angeles Chargers: -105
- Los Angeles Rams: +105
In this example, the team favored to win is the Los Angeles Chargers with odds of -105. This means for every $1 the bettor is looking to gain, they would need to wager $1.05, to bet $105 to win $100. The team that is the underdog in this matchup is the Los Angeles Rams with odds of +105. This means for every $1 wagered, the bettor could win $1.05, to bet $100 to gain $105.

Sports Betting in California
Sports bettors in California are going to have to wait for certain laws to take effect before they can legally bet on the Chargers.
As of this writing, there is no legal sports betting in California. It is not legal to place sports bets in person or online in California. However, there are many supporters of legalizing the practice in California, so who knows what will happen in the future.
Online sports betting remains illegal in California. In the meantime, you can play daily fantasy sports (DFS) or at social sportsbooks like Fliff, Thrillzz, or Rebet.
Los Angeles Chargers Partnership with Esports Entertainment
In August 2021, the Los Angeles Chargers signed a multi-year partnership deal with Esports Entertainment. They will now be the NFL team’s official esports tournament platform provider. Once sports betting is legal in California, the Los Angeles Chargers may make other sportsbook partnerships in the future.
